Busyness . Balance . Beingness

There will come a time where all the busyness wants to fall away…

Eventually, it’s inevitable. We experience the little and big triggers and traumas of living, where they send messages to our nervous system, all parts of the body and brain, time after time having us to live in a fight or flight mode.

Look at the amount of resistance that has been building up inside of us. Look at the amount of escapes that have been going on to avoid being with ourselves and getting to know ourselves.

How about someday God comes by for a home visit like …

“Hey Honey, look at you.. you have come so far and you have done your best and beyond. Look at the rush culture, chasing one thing after another often times unconsciously, the cruel conditioning and swaying life off track with all the distractions.”

Thank you for the lucidity you lend to the eyes, the intelligence to the mind, the voice to speak the truth, the power to walk the path.

It’s okay to cry when we cannot always fulfil what others want. It’s okay to cry when we cannot love the innocent ones the way we want to love them.

We all need mentors and communities whose lens, intelligence and experiences are wide, deep and diverse to shine light on our growth and development.

When it’s time to slow down, slow down. Be present with life. Enjoy the little things.

You know, it’s the little girl and the little boy you have known your whole life. The one with you on your every breath. The one you see and hang out with everyday.

Love the beautiful spaces within your neighbourhood and beyond. Love your work and education. Love your tribe.

Honour Your Beauty. Honour Your Being.

Education is the movement from darkness to light. ~ Allan Bloom

In English, we say…

I have been hurt.

In poetry, we say…

There is a hole in my heart that needs healing.

In English, we say…

I am exhausted. I need to take a break from it all.

In poetry, we say…

God wants me to nestle in a safe space and give with my heart.

In English, we say…

I am happy to see you this evening. And I am thankful for the stories we share, the emotions we feel, and the courage and humility for the human experiences that are yet to unfold.

In poetry, we say…

Your presence is a gift to me at sunset. Our scars make stories come alive. Our hearts beat with rhythms like songs. Every tomorrow sits with our sadness. Every tomorrow celebrates our joy. The winds of the world lets us live out the warrior inside. The cries of the world nurtures our human compassion.

In English, we say…

Please show some basic respect and consideration for others.

In poetry, we say…

You have been so lost and forgotten within yourself that you can’t see another person for who they are.

In English, we say…

It’s always good to reflect after a long day of interaction and information. Be lucid enough to learn. Be proud enough to praise. Be wise enough to critique. Be humble enough to do better. Be kind enough to find peace.

In poetry, we say…

We live in a bombarded world. Everyday introspection lets our heart and mind communicate. Grounding is what the soul seeks. Our body is the temple.
