Art Content
The General Mixed Media Art Classes for children and teenagers consist of an array of visual art, such as sketching, illustration, painting, sculpture, collage and designing etc, along with a variety of materials and tools for the learning and exploration.
The general art content is based on everyday art scenes, artists’ inspired works, classic and contemporary arts etc. If the child or teenager has an interest for some specific art forms and elements along the way, such as sketching, animals and botanicals, they can inform the art teacher in advance about their ideas so that if it is possible, the materials and information can be prepared for them to work on in the following classes - It is usually more suitable for those who are more independent, self-directed and also of a bigger age.
There is no specific lesson plan created for each child/teenager, as each holds a flexible art class schedule at the studio.
Class Booking
Booking and payment of art classes and workshops are advisable to be made at least 3 to 7 calendar days in advance or at a time period as advised, via whatsapp/sms/call/email. A drop-in class on the day itself is subject to availability; as much as the studio/teaching personnel would make it a possible arrangement.
Class Validity
One class has a 2-week validity. For example, a set of 15 classes including all workshops and complimentary sessions, comes with a 30-week validity. A set of 5 classes comes with a 10-week validity.
Payment Mode
Payment mode is via paynow or cash. The general description would be reflected in the invoice.
Class Schedule
Studio art classes and workshops are usually scheduled on one/two days of the week. For example, every Friday and/or Saturday.
Kindly check in on the studio’s opening days and hours for art classes and workshops based on the time frame of the classes that the child/teenager takes up. Classes are conducted on both a consistent and flexible basis, and also on a periodical/seasonal basis. Class scheduling is to be made at least 5 to 7 days in advance, or at a time period as advised, so that the child or teenager will be able to try out more of the arranged content or self-proposed artwork. If a shorter notice or late notice is given, and it can also be scheduled in, the child or teenager will work on what is available at that point of time.
There are times where parents/caregivers may receive a call or text from the child/teenager to inform that they may have to stay back for a little while to complete their work, on an average of 15 to 30 minutes more.
Class Timing
Coming in slightly later or earlier to settle down is fine, provided the studio is open at that time to welcome you. In general, the art classes start and end just around on time for everyone, so should there be very prominent changes/delays, please update early in regards to everyone, and the art class may have to be rescheduled to another time/day or the child/teenager can be brought to a specific location for waiting.
General Class Size
Each general session is between 1 and 4 pax and with 1 teacher; each child/teen’s schedule may take place at the same time or at an overlapped time schedule of one another.
The art studio is a space that runs under 250 square feet, with a small handful of class offerings, and with a part of it dedicated for in-studio art classes.
At other times, the teaching personnel like myself, would be engaged with other areas of work which may take place in the studio and outside of the studio.
The studio will arrange for classes based on a periodical/seasonal time frame and on what is most beneficial and appropriate in consideration for the studio operation, the teaching personnel and the students, in regards to the changes informed by both the studio and the parents/caregivers of the child/teen art class schedule.

Material Add-On
Most of the general materials are already provided for in the art classes. For other materials and ornaments such as stretched canvas boards, wood boards, letterings and figurines, there will be a material add-on option.
Dress Code
The dress code is the studio art tee shirt or other casual wear/dressing you feel good and comfortable in for the art teachers and students. To be clear and specific; this includes regular tank tops, tops and bottoms with holes and shreds whether it is made by design or from a result of natural worn-out, shorts and slippers.
The setting and sessions here are casual, creative and open. This applies to everyone in the studio. So shall there be a misalignment and cultural differences etc, for example, according to the parents/caregivers’ upbringing, religious practices and belief systems, such as a lot of skin has to be covered up, or that there is only a certain dress code for yourself, please show the teachers, students and participants the basic respect, and be kindly aware that there would definitely be a more suitable environment out there for you and your team at the moment.
Please also note that due to the nature of art classes, there may be paint/ink and such that will go onto the clothings, so it would be good to prepare an apron or tee shirt that will partly help protect against it if necessary.
It is also advisable not to wear any sentimental/expensive/important clothings to the art classes if there is a concern as the former.
The Studio Space
The studio space is for general art classes for the teachers, students, and participants, art class enquiry, work/personal calls and visits such as suppliers dropping by with goods and family/friends/neighbours popping in to inform about a matter whether it is on a regular basis or occasional basis, and for activities and projects of different nature where it may be work materials or work-in-progress sitting around the studio.
However, if the child may need some parental support during the class, we will play by ear and arrange for the best setting possible where the parent/caregiver can sit in to bring some support and peace of mind for the child.
Please help us to maintain the standard studio setting. This is both an art and working studio where duties such as housekeeping, administrative work, content creation, lesson planning, graphic designing, project planning and proposals, exploration and experimentation of the works of visual arts, and all other relevant and ad-hoc duties are being carried out.
Observation Class
Parents/caregivers can opt for a physical observation class during the trial class to further assess the child’s interest and suitability. Please arrange with the art teacher/studio if necessary. It will usually be scheduled at a timing such as in the early morning, late evening, or any other ideal period.
Students’ Artwork
The students’ artwork shall naturally reflect a sense of originality, uniqueness and rawness, together with the guidance and ideas of the teacher and peers. The younger kids may require more hands-on assistance from the teacher/peers and the older kids will be encouraged to develop an increased sense of self-direction and inquiry-based learning. There shall not be any micro-management by the teacher throughout the entire art class unless very necessary.
The teacher can assist to touch up and improve the aesthetics of the artwork. However, there is no such thing as perfect, flawless artworks with very straight and clean lines and effects etc for every piece of artwork created. These are arts and crafts sessions for the children and teenagers to discover and develop their creativity, while enjoying and engaging with the benefits and functions that art brings, and being able to apply some of these into the other areas of their learning and development.
Equality | Diversity | Inclusivity
We embrace a one-love culture here, where the teachers, students, participants, parents/caregivers and visitors are each naturally made up of a different profile. This may range from their education systems, lifestyles, cultures, religions, beliefs and diets. During a usual class time, we collectively do our best to work with one another’s differences and needs. There shall be basic respect and natural interaction among one another. There is no privileged services here for any particular person.
Make The Most Out of Your Class Time
The art class itself sits on a pretty standardised spectrum for everyone.
To create an enjoyable and pleasantly productive time in the studio, children shall come in with a mindset to learn. As much as most of us understand that the children in this modern day are full of intelligence, curiosity and great learning ability, and they are definitely one of our greatest teachers and the world makers; the children themselves shall refrain from the constant influence of their parents/caregivers on being very focused on the class duration, the class fees, the number of sessions, the prying on both the professional and personal matters of the studio, the students, the teacher, the parents/caregivers, participants and such.
They shall spend more time enjoying and engaging in the art classes itself.
Interest and Intention
Our interest and intention are on the learning and development of creative courses.
Behavioural Traits
There is already a lot of day-day workplace and home toxicity all around the world. Very fortunately, today we have access to a lot of healing modalities. So if we do spot excessive behaviours of aggressiveness, comparison, competition and wanting to conquer and control etc, rising in a very unhealthy context, we would address it.
Gifts | Celebrations
We work together to provide support and kindness for one another, by giving, receiving and sharing to our best. Occasional gifts, celebrations, additional complimentary sessions and any other forms of additional support and such, are a token of appreciation and good times for one another.
Please note that these are not a compulsory/obligatory/for-granted part of the art classes. There is also no such thing where fairness is being technically calculated and practised to the bits and pieces.
Your Feedback Matters
No one has it all together. Your feedback matters and there is always room for improvement.
